Ardent Falklands 40 Painting

The latest painting by artist David Ball commemorates the 40th anniversary of the Falklands War. It shows the carrier HMS Invincible, the frigate HMS Ardent, Royal Fleet Auxiliaries Sir Galahad, Stromness and ‘The Great White Whale’, the commandeered and converted troopship Canberra sailing in the Atlantic Ocean on their way to the Falklands.

David said “I have used artistic licence to put these ships together representing the three armed services and the auxiliaries.”

The painting will be on display at the Romsey Art Group spring exhibition at the Mountbatten Gallery from 30th April until 14th May 2022 and David will be at the gallery on the afternoon of Wednesday 4th May 2022.
