Hope of bringing “Awesome Amazon” home to the Clyde
BAE Systems are provisionally supporting a project as is the developer of Govan Graving Docks in Glasgow to bring a Type 21 home from Pakistan and make it part of the maritime attractions at a Govan Docks in the Clyde. This is an ambitious vision for the area and many hurdles have to be overcome. Dock 2 is to be earmarked for the Type21, no firm decision has been made yet as the team are still in discussions with the Pakistan High Commission. An early conversation has been had over dock reopening with Glasgow Council and preparatory work is proceeding.
