Royal Navy unveils new £2.5m sea survival centre named 'Ardent'

The centre on Horsea Island in Portsmouth was officially named ‘Ardent’ in memory of the 22 lost shipmates from HMS Ardent and replaces a run-down building used since 1982.The name ‘Ardent’ was chosen to reflect the professionalism of the crew of HMS Ardent in the safe and successful abandonment of the ship on the 21 May 1982, something the team at the Sea Survival Centre are keen to instil into all personal trained at the facility.[cws_gpp_images_by_albumid theme=grid id="6530976431188045761"]
