Corporate Squadron
In 2010 HMS Raleigh, the Royal Navy training establish in Cornwall, opened four new accommodation blocks. The new blocks, named Antelope, Ardent, Sir Galahad and Conqueror, named after units which were part of the UK Task Force sent to recover the Falkland Islands in 1982. The operation was codenamed Operation Corporate. Members of the association and sea cadets from T.S. Ardent attended the opening ceremony.
HMS Raleigh maintains a close link with the HMS Ardent Association and in 2014 honoured one of our own by naming a Hanson Division after Shaun Hanson one of our fallen shipmates. His parents Pete and Rene Hanson attended the officially opening of the new Division supported by many of their family and members of the Association. Hanson Division continues to mark the fallen crew of ARDENT at Remembrance Sunday and on the 21 May, our anniversary of the sinking of the ship.
